The key points here are the ease of the transition from a non-networked to a networked home and the "mapping out of needs". The networking of a home is more easily done while the home is being built but this technology can be added after the fact as well. What is of interest is the "needs" aspect of this movement. What are the needs of a homeowner when it comes to facilitating domestic life? Are these needs new needs or simply attempts at doing more because we can do more? Are these needs truly desired or is there a sense of novelty at work here?

Wired News: Rolling Camera Eyeballs Danger

Wired News: Rolling Camera Eyeballs Danger
I don't really have any brilliant comments to make on this topic, but I do want to say that this new 360 degree camera is VERY cool! My historical record for maintaining blogs has been horrific, but I am determined to get a useful, educational, and fun blog up and running. This blog will be a place where one can let their opinions and thoughts be known when it comes to issues relating to surveillance. My current research focus is on domestic surveillance technologies, but surveillance as an overall topic and issue is one that continues to fascinate me. Share your views, links, articles, and insight with me and thanks for participating.
